Sonar Watersports

Established in 1988, Sonar Wetsuits of Australia quickly grew to become Australia’s leading scuba diving wetsuit manufacturer. It built the world’s best and most durable wetsuits. When you see old file footage around water on Australian TV, 99% of the time they’re in a Sonar Wetsuit.

Later Sonar started importing and wholesaling masks, fins, snorkels, knives and a wide range of other diving products with great success. However, overseas competition forced the end of wetsuit manufacturing in July 2013. In August 2013, Lloyd Borrett purchased Sonar as an ongoing concern, and began trading as Sonar Watersports Australia and was subsequently purchased by Mark Green in February 2022.

With Sonar’s local wetsuit manufacturing operation closed, we are continuing the Sonar import and wholesale operations, plus looking at ways to keep producing Sonar wetsuits.
